London!

Before we returned to the USA Amy and I decided to spend a day in the UK. It was great! We rode a red bus for a few hours. Although it was freezing and I had no voice it was all about the experience. That evening we had tickets to Wicked in the West End. Wicked was a great concept...but sadly we missed most of it because of how tired we were. Amy would catch me sleeping than I'd catch her.

It's coming to Dallas..I'm sure it will have the same effect......(that's a joke if you didn't catch it)

Enjoy my view of London!

The Beautiful City of Doha...Part 1

11.22.2009

Doha, Beautiful Doha!

Greetings from Doha, Qatar! Wow! Wow! Wow! How did I get here? I'm not completely sure but I'm ever grateful for this time. So far this has been the best vacation I've ever had! After 16 hours of pain and tiny airplane sits Amy and I arrived at our destination. It's been so refreshing. We are staying with an amazing family from Houston,TX. The mother is an angel. She is in charge of Women's Ministry at the church. She has a huge heart and she is full or wisdom! I've enjoyed spending time with her.

Today Amy and I rented jet ski's from some shady men. After ripping the t-shirt off Amy's ski that was causing hers to smoke....we were off unto the Persian Gulf! We were granted an hour to enjoy the gulf! Wow! It was amazing. I sang praises to God louder than I'd ever sang done before. This city to stunning. Qatar's have so much money they just decide to build large buildings. Which make for a beautiful skyline. Amy and I would have moments were we would just stop and enjoy the views, the culture, our Creator! Thankfully we survived the salt and cool breeze. We approached the bay to find a few man that had their eyes set on Amy. Blonde hair, blue eyes...what's not to love! One was bold enough to ask her for her number. She declined. So there we were....for the first time not modestly dressed (Let me remind you we were in the classic t-shirt and shorts over the swimsuit number--so in the US we'd be a joke but in the middle east we are showing it ALL.)  Really at the very moment I was reminded of the huge gender roles that are set in stone for these people. Men are men and women are women.

All and all Amy and I are having a ball. Pray for safety. We love and miss yall.

Overflowing

I'm am so grateful for my friends and family! So often I forget to thank God for the unique individuals He has placed so purposefully in my life. But today I'll pause to say THANK YOU!

After dinner with a few folks I knew and a lot of folks I kinda knew --I was granted sweet conversation with my best friend. We talked about life and how important it is to take a deep breath every now and again. As I exited the parking lot I see a familiar walk...who could it be? My old (but not old) youth minister and AMAZING wife. I spent the next 4 hours, sipping starbucks, talking to them about life, God's grace and the power of letting go through prayer. Talk about a surprise blessing. God really knows our needs.

The next evening I spend with my friend from school. I'm learning the power of God's word. This friend allows me to attend church with her where the word of God is BOLDLY preached! It's amazing the pastor doesn't play when he talks about God's will! I just love it! I feel like we should all life the gospel with fearlessness and boldness.

Thursday eve I catch up with friends from my hometown. We eat seafood, have drinks, and stay about 1hour after close in sweet convo! WoW we gotta do this more often ladies. Ooo I forgot about our 5 desserts! Ha---it was divine.

I zoomed home to cheer for my all-star cousin! It was odd to be back at the stadium. The stadium where I spent every Friday evening for about 8 years straight rooting for the home team. The night was a success. My cousin played like a star plus got to see some old faces and best of all we got some quality photo-graphs taken!!

Today was a sweet day! I got to visit with my family. Granny and I talked for a few hours about life! She is an amazing women! She is strong but yet so caring. I got to witness my parent's halloween party--in the making! Live band, food, drinks, games and costumes. It was hard work but I hope they are having a great time.

My sis and I went to a corn maze tonight with our small group from church. Ooooo how sweet it is to be with women that love them some Jesus. Cracker Barrel breakfast was off the chain.

Today I want to remind you to be grateful for the little moments ...PREPARE FOR SOME CHEEEESEINESS TO THE MAX...but those small moments is where real life takes place. It's where cute separates and matures into beautiful. Real life is found to feed our souls with more than the eye can see.

"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness." Colossians 2:6:-7

Over flowing with thankfulness.......
